Splice Kits
Trombetta solenoids, also known as DC contactors, are heavy-duty SPST normally open switches rated for 150A duty with up to 800A inrush, built for the most demanding 12VDC power switching applications. A sealed plastic housing carries an IP67 water and dust ingress rating, making these units ideal for exposed automotive, marine, and off-highway installations. Continuous-duty and intermittent-duty versions are offered in non-grounded and grounded configurations with a choice of mounting brackets. Note that continuous-duty and intermittent-duty units are not interchangeable, and solenoids must be mounted with the studs up or parallel to the terrain — never facing down.
- Ratings: 150A continuous-duty and 150A intermittent-duty, both with 800A inrush, in 12VDC.
- Ingress protection: IP67-rated sealed plastic housing for water and dust resistance.
- Terminals: 5/16-24 contact studs and 10-32 coil-terminal studs; available non-grounded or grounded.
- Bracket options: flat bracket, flat 'L' bracket, and curved narrow 'L' bracket to suit varied mounting.
- Installation notes: mount studs-up or parallel (never down), do not exceed labeled torque ratings, and do not substitute continuous- and intermittent-duty units.
